Which Back Box/DV Valve? Powerflow, BCS, Milltek, Cobra?....
« on: January 17, 2015, 08:11:52 pm »
Evening guys and gals,

Recently had pre-cat removed, cam follower changed and a pipercross panel filter to replace the standard filter. Looking in to backboxes for some added aesthetic noise (I know a decat is the way to go for power + a bit more noise, but I don't want I too ASBO sound levels), so Ive been looking around at what people have had on their GTI's. I know BCS seems very popular on this forum however i've been quoted around £220 for a bespoke stainless cat back system from "powerflow". Has anyone had any experience with these systems or can highly recommend any other backbox?

On another topic, i'm also looking to upgrade my Diverter Valve, as I know the standard ones are prone to failure after a remap. Any recommendations on these and where to purchase from?

Cheers! Happy Saturday!  :jumpmove:

Rich.

Buy a BCS if you want a well thought of, great sounding and long lasting exhaust. Power flow is all down to the quality of the maker, some good, some bad. You want either a cat back for noise, or downpipe & sports cat /Decat  for power. No one sells just a back box.

Plenty of threads on exhausts if you try a search  :happy2:

DV, you want a OEM revision G. Part no in here: http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,44709.msg614515.html#msg614515
